Aro, Banaz and their baby daughter Liza live in a small apartment in Thessaloniki. The family that fled Iraq, has applied for asylum in Greece and are now waiting for their application to be processed by the Greek authorities.

Banaz was studying computer engineering before she had to flee Iraq with her husband and hopes that eventually she will be able to continue her studies and get her degree. Her husband, Aro who used to work as a TV station director in Iraq, has managed to find work washing cars. The family lives in an apartment rented as part of the ESTIA programme by which UNHCR provides urban accommodation and cash assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece.
